Houston Career Center employee awards winners

On July 29, 2010, Houston County Career Center held their Employees of the Year awards ceremony. Romina Fulks won the Customer Service Award and Brandon Plocki won the Team Player Award. Each of them received a framed certificate and a gift card to Wal-Mart courtesy of the Employer Committee. Their names were also engraved on the permanent plaque which hangs in the lobby. Read more

JOBS FOR GEORGIA GRADUATES 2009 MULTI-YEAR SEMINAR at Fort Valley State University New

The Georgia Department of Labor’s Jobs for Georgia Graduates Program hosted the Ninth Annual Training Seminar and Awards Luncheon on April 23, 2009 on the campus of Fort Valley State University.  Our theme was “Education: The Journey Never Ends.” Approximately 350 freshman, sophomores, and juniors attended representing thirteen high schools from throughout the state. The sophomores and juniors received valuable information during the career/college fair which convened that morning. Read more

2009 State Conference Recap

In spite of this year’s tough economic times, the Georgia Employer Committee thought long and hard to find an efficient way to continue the success of hosting a statewide conference. After looking at various cost effective suggestions, the decision was made to combine our State Conference with the Georgia Safety Health and Environmental State Conference in Savannah, Georgia. Over 400 were in attendance at this year’s joint conference. Read more
